David GREENWAY Obituary

GREENWAY, David Earl "Crazy Dave"

May 26, 1954 - Nov. 21, 2014, passed into the gates of heaven to join brother Tony "Catfish". Dave grew up in Portage, IN where his hometown friendships remain strong. At 18 he moved to Clearwater. His twinkling eyes, huge smile, booming laughter, and larger than life personality endeared him to everyone he met. He is survived by parents, Myrl and Doris of Springville, TN; wife, Joyce; son, Kevin; daughter, Lisa (Sean) McFarland; stepchildren, Fontana and Lulu Ostrander. He also leaves behind his "brother from another mother" Ron Strickland, longtime friend of over 30 years; and first wife of twenty years Gerilyn Frederick. Dave was a giving and generous friend. He enjoyed buying gifts for those he loved and a round of drinks for friends. He loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He was a fisherman, golfer, Deadhead, Santa, St. Patrick, and life of every party. Many hearts are broken, but in his spirit and memory we will "Keep on Truckin". Celebration of Dave's life at Mickey Quinns in Indian Rocks Beach, Saturday, Dec. 13 at noon.

Even though we lived far apart and could not be part of "everyday" life you were a treasured and loved family member. You were the Uncle that took my children to the park to play, you were the bear hug and huge smile when we were in Fla for a visit. You will be missed by the many friends and family members that love you and I am grateful to be counted among them. Keep smiling down on us Dave!
