Dexter JOHNSON

JOHNSON, Dexter Clifford "D.C.", 87, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at The Palms of Sebring. He was born November 21, 1926 in Hardee County and remained a lifetime resident of Hardee County until moving to Sebring in 2013. He was an auto mechanic at the Sinclair and Standard Oil Service Stations in Wauchula. He was a very caring and loving person who was very supportive of his family. He loved the outdoors caring for his rose garden, citrus and budding citrus trees and fishing for mullet and sheepshead on the West Coast. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother and father, Raymond and Ira Johnson, and a son, Jimmy Ray Johnson. He is sur-vived by his daughters, Teresa Minear, Thelma Chambers (Ronald), and Bonnie Bennet and family. He is also survived by Grandchildren: Melissa Smith, Roger Thornton, Jr., Kristina Chapman (Derek), and Jamie Welch (Larry), and GreatGrandchildren: Cain and Caleb Thornton, Jessica Cumbee and Alyssa Zuniga, Alexandrea and Haley Shelton, Donovan, Dalton and Dallas Chapman, and Abby and Avery Welch. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hardee County with the Reverend Wendell Smith officiating, along with the Johnson family.
