Francis DAVIS Obituary

DAVIS, Francis Xavier

65, passed away Dec. 30, 2014, and services were held on Jan. 5, 2015, at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home. He was survived by daughters, Michelle and Danielle; two grandchildren; and many friends. To those who love him he was known as "Frankie". Born in New York, raised in Long Island along with three brothers and one sister. After graduating, he enlisted in the Army for 4 years, served 2 tours in Vietnam, as well as the Military Police. He moved to Florida to follow his dream of a career in law enforcement. He was hired by Tarpon Springs Police Department in 1973 until 1979, when he joined the Pinellas County Sheriffs Department. He served the people of Pinellas County for almost 30 years before retiring in 2008. During his time with the Sheriffs Office he progressed to the rank of Lt., was a member of the SWAT Team, a Firearms Instructor, assigned to Vice and Narcotics and had the privilege of being selected to attend Quantico and becoming a certified Hostage Negotiator. Francis Xavier Davis, was a true hero spending his entire adult life protecting our Country and the citizens of Pinellas County. Sadly, he never got to enjoy his well earned retirement. Frankie will be truly missed.
