Fredric Richard "Rick" LeVarge

Fredric LeVarge Obituary

LeVarge, Fredric Richard "Rick"

88, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, following a brief illness.

Born on January 13, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Rick was the son of Fred and Lillian LeVarge. After graduating from high school, he proudly served three years in the United States Army with the Third Armored Division before being honorably discharged. He later attended the University of Tampa, earning a degree in Business Administration, and went on to complete a master's degree at the Louisiana State University School of Banking.

On November 25, 1959, Rick married the love of his life, Patricia Mae Clark, in Tampa. Together, they built a family, a home, and a lifetime of memories. Pat preceded him in death, along with his parents, Fred and Lillian.

Rick devoted his professional life to banking and was widely respected in the industry. He served as President and Chairman of the Board of City First Bank in Tampa, was a past President of the Florida Bankers Association, and a dedicated advocate for community banking in Florida. He also gave his time and leadership as past president and director of the American Banking Institute (Tampa Chapter) and as a founding director of the Tampa Bank Credit Exchange.

Deeply committed to service and fellowship, Rick followed in his father's footsteps as a member of Hillsborough Masonic Lodge No. 25 F&AM, the York and Scottish Rites, the Shriners Hospital, and the Jesters. He was also a proud member of Phi Delta Kappa. In his later years, he especially enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow veterans at the Hugh Gilbert Strickland American Legion Post 138 in South Tampa.

Rick and Pat shared a love of golf and were longtime members of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, as well as the Hound Ears Club in Boone, North Carolina. They were also faithful members of St. John's Episcopal Church in Tampa and St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis, North Carolina.

Rick is survived by his children, Lincoln LeVarge, Lynn LeVarge Stanford (Steve), and Laine LeVarge Walker (Ken); his grandchildren, Clay Walker, Blake Stanford (Lauren), Jack Walker (Samantha), Chris Walker, and Mallie Lomel (Trey); and his great-grandchildren, Reagan Stanford and Everett Stanford.

The family will celebrate Rick's life at a private service over Thanksgiving weekend in Tampa, when all can be together. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
