Gail Kelly ALBRITTON

ALBRITTON, Gail Kelly, 84, resident of Tampa and Tallahassee, passed away on March 17, 2016. Born in Lake Wales, Gail grew up in Tallahassee and graduated from Leon High School. She attended FSU, where her father, Jerry B. Kelly, taught chemistry, and she served as an editor of the FSU year-book. She married A. Dallas Albritton, Jr. and moved to Tampa where they raised two children. After her di-vorce in 1967 Gail finished college at USF. She worked as a secretary and then as legislative aide to Richard "Dick" Hodes, M.D., who served in the Florida legisla-ture for many years. Gail moved back to Tallahassee and was on the legislative staffs for several Florida House Speakers until she retired in 1995. She worked on number of special pro-jects and was proud of her work. In retirement, Gail took up golf & was active in a women's league for many years. She was a staunch democrat. She loved ani-mals & painting. Gail and her beloved cat, Buddy, moved back to Tampa in 2010 to live with family. She is survived by her sons, Brian and Gary Albritton; their wives, Joo Hooi and Catherine, both of whom were instrumental in caring for her; and two grandsons, Callan and Dallas Albritton. A memorial service and celebration of Gail's life will be held at St. Mary's Episco-pal Church, at 4311 W. San Miguel St., Tampa, Florida, Saturday, April 9, 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, pls. make donations to the Humane Society, Tampa Bay or Leon County, in Gail's memory.
