Gertrud "Trudy" Halbig

HALBIG, Gertrud "Trudy", loving mother and grandmother, of Avon Park, died Saturday morning, April 30, 2005, at Sunbelt Health Care, Apopka, Fla. A native of Heidelburg, Germany, she had lived here since 1958, coming from Germany. She was a waitress, having worked for Griffin's Restaurant, Touchton Drugs, B&J Family Restaurant and The Clock Restaurant where she found joy in serving others. She will be remembered for her kindness and compassion for others and for her love of animals. She is survived by her son, Wolfgang W. Halbig and his wife, Kathleen, of Apopka, Fla.; two grandsons, Erik W. Halbig of Orlando and Karl C. Halbig of Tifton, Ga., and many loving friends. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Fountain Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Thorn officiating.
