Helen SPELTZ

1920 - 2021

SPELTZ, Helen passed away peacefully at the age of 100 in her home in Tampa, FL on June 30, 2021, her late husband's birthday. Born to John and Ann Riski in Caldwell, OH on Aug. 11, 1920, she married Elmer Speltz on Nov. 22, 1941 in Cleveland, OH and was happily married for 65 years. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, and her son-in-law, Jim Boucek. She is survived by her daughters, Marian Bou-cek and Terrie Hiltunen (Chuck); her sons, John Speltz (Donna) and Ted Speltz (Katharina); her grandchildren, Julie Bou-cek, Nicole and Alex Speltz, and Dan Hilt-unen; and her brother, Bernie Riski (Dorothy). Helen was an avid golfer, club president, and hole-in-one award recipient, who played until her 90th birthday. She also enjoyed card playing and bingo. She will be remembered as a devout, fun-loving person. Mass is at St. Paul's Catholic Church Family Ctr., 12708 N. Dale Mabry, Tampa, July 16 at 10 am; interment is at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, at 11:30 am.
