Howard BERNSTEIN Obituary

BERNSTEIN, Howard Jerry

"Howie" 83, passed peacefully surrounded by his family at home Dec. 3, 2017. He was originally from the Bronx, NY. He was an All-American basketball player and received a full scholarship from the University of Tampa. He remained in Tampa, having met his wife Carmen Prado and they were married 61 years. Howie was a self-made entrepreneur with a passion for real estate, horse racing, and playing golf. His biggest joy was spending time with his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Howie will always be remembered for his infectious smile and his larger than life personality. He is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Larry, Daryl (Lauren) Bernstein, and Karla (Doug) Wagner; and grandchildren, Paul, Carly, Jessica, and Blake. He is also survived by sisters, Phyllis Schultz and Adrienne Bernstein; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margo and Frank Massari; nephews, Johnny (Kim), Kenny (Vanessa) Fernandez, Brian, Michael (Coleen); and niece, Susan Schultz (Tim). Honoring Howie's wishes there will not be a formal memorial service and in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice, Tampa or a charity of your choice.
