Jack Redding Obituary

REDDING, Jack M., 73, of Temple Terrace, passed away October 8, 2005. He is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of 45 years, Norma Redding; his three loving children, Sharon, Mike and Chris; grand- children, Alexa and Garrett; brother, Bob and wife Grace; and nephew, Greg and wife Shelley. He graduated from Hillsborough High School. He served honorably in the Korean War. He was a devoted employee for 54 years at Florida Rock Industries (formerly LaFarge of Florida) and worked as a layout welder. He took great pride in his work. In 2004, he was a recipient of the national MSHA' Homes award for safety worker of the year and The Florida Rock safety award for safe worker of the year for working 53 years without a lost time accident. He was a genuine man in the truest sense of the word. His wife, children and work were his life. Active pallbearers are Mike Redding, Garrett Redding, Chris Redding, Dakota Ross, Bob Redding, Greg Redding, Rodney Ehrhardt, Jeff Lupton, Keith Meeks, Tom Jackson and Matt LeHeup. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Alderman, Reggie Clonts, Alan Dodson, Mark Caldebilla, J. Howard Gisler, Richard Lowry, Ricky Boudreau, Carey Boudreau, Dr. Joe Valenti, Tom Owens and Buster Farina. Wake services will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, and services at 7 p.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held noon Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
