Jacqueline WILLIAMS

WILLIAMS, Jacqueline Mary 81, of Harbor Bluffs, Florida passed away on September 13, 2024, at home. Frank and Jackie were just about to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary. Jackie was born on October 5, 1942 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to Bessie and Burt Rixon. She grew up in Reading, Massachusetts, and graduated from Reading High School, New England Deaconess Nursing program, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at John's Hopkins. Jackie and Frank Williams met while she was a nursing student and he was at Harvard Medical School, and they got married on September 21, 1963, at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Reading, Massachusetts. Jackie also taught nursing students in Florida and volunteered in Bhutan. She worked as an RN in Boston, John Hopkins and Florida. Jackie became an avid birder and, with friends, monitored the bald eagle nests in Pinellas County for years. She also did talks to elementary school students about brown pelicans in Florida. She was active in the Clearwater Audubon Society and went on locally as well as multi day trips to other states as well as in Florida. Jackie also was one of the individuals who helped in starting the Yampa Valley Crane Festival in Colorado. Jackie and Frank also attended the Crane Festival in Bhutan. Jackie was a regular supporter and participant in Church of the Ascension in Clearwater, Florida and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Jackie and her family enjoyed travel, snow skiing, sailing, hiking in the mountains of Colorado, New England, Asia and South America. Jackie and Frank enjoy classical music and supported the Florida Orchestra and the Strings Music Festival in Colorado. Jackie is survived by her husband, Frank M. Williams; and their sons, Christopher Lee Williams (Pavlina Williams) and Andrew Rixon Williams; Jackie's brother, Bill Rixon; and cousin, Barry Mitchelson (Robin). A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension at 701 Orange Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33756, 727-447-3469 at One p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024.
