Jose DOMINGUEZ Obituary

DOMINGUEZ, Dr. Jose Jr. (AKA Tico or JC), died at age 61, surrounded by his family at his home in Tampa, FL on Friday, November 5, 2021. While he succumbed to his four-year battle with cancer, he died the way he lived; on his own terms, exactly the way he wanted to, surrounded by the people he loved most. Born in Havana, Cuba, Jose was a lifelong resident of Tampa. He attended Jesuit High School, where he was the State Champion, All American wrestler in 1978. Jose attended the University of South Florida for his undergraduate studies. After medical school, while completing his residency training at Orlando Regional Medical Center, he met his beloved wife of 33 years, Tina. He completed his medical training at Emory University and returned to Tampa as an Allergist Immunologist, where he had a thriving and successful practice for 29 years. While Dr. Dominguez's greatest passions in life were his family, friends, and medical practice; he had many other passions and hobbies. These passions included (but were certainly not limited to) hunting all over the world, fishing, collecting cars (both real and RC), flying helicopters, and being a divemaster. He was also the King of the Knights of the Krewe of Sant' Yago in 2000. Through his adventures and the many relationships he acquired, Jose lived 1,000 lifetimes in the 61 years we had him. He is survived by his wife, Tina; daughters, Sasha and Shelbi; mother, Edith; and brother, Peter. His father, Dr. Jose Carlos Dominguez Sr., died last December. Memorial contributions may be made to Tampa General Hospital, The Cleveland Clinic, and The World Wildlife Organization. Private services were held. I am truly sorry to hear this news. I was Doc´s scuba instructor many years ago. We became good friends and did many scuba diving trips together. We also played on the same paintball team. We shared a love of tropic fish and fish tanks. I was once stung by a bee and had a terrible reactions. I was at a scuba dive site about :45 minutes from his office. He left his office and arrived at my location in about 30 minutes" he had a fast car and ran every red light. He treated me for my allergies.
I just moved back to Tampa and wanted to look him up and I am truly heartbroken to learn this sad news! If his wife or family see this, please reach out to me on my Facebook page Mickey Wigerman or my E Mail [email protected]

My deepest condolences to Dominguez family for their loss. I attended Christ the King and Jesuit High School a year ahead of Jose, remembering him and his family. My brother Paul was in his grade. He has a zest for life then and later. He will be sorely missed.

My deepest condolences to the Family. Dr. Dominguez was a great doctor. I would come to a visit and we would talk about everything else but my allergies. Lol. He helped me get my kidney stones under control. He told me what to ask my doctor for. I am just finding out he passed. He had a beautiful soul. May he rest in paradise.
