I worked with Julie at Largo High for 23 years. She was so dedicated and I thought she would teach forever. She was very caring and sensitive to the needs of students. I attended the grave site services on Saturday and met her sister and her dear niece Katie.

I am shocked. I taught next door to Julie for many years. After I retired in 2000, I thought she would be right behind me. But she kept going, trooper that she was. My B-Wing gang has just been diminished by the passing of a colleague, and a friend. God Bless You, Julie; you gave so much to your parents and to your students and to us. Rest in peace..

Julie was a bright light even on a dark day. She was friend and a colleague for 10 years at Largo High. She loved her students and literature. Julie shared her love of the written word with thousands of students in her 41 years here. We share laughs, gripes and even our "Walter Matheau" moments when we couldn't remember his name in "Grumpy Old Men."
Julie is, no doubt, asking Bill Shakespeare about one of his tradgies.
God's Peace, Julie, you are remembered fondly.

I have very wonderful memories of Julie! I taught with her at LHS for many, many years. She was always smiling, and happy to be with the students and the faculty, and I know the students loved her, and enjoyed being in her classes. Not all teachers have as wonderful place in the hearts and minds of students. She will be missed but leaves a great legacy of superior teaching to those who follow!

My memory of Julie is brief. I knew her in the 1974-1976 school year of Largo High School. It was my first year of teaching math. Since then I have taught math for 35 years. What I remember is a woman that I could only describe as a teachers-teacher. Commitment, Compassion, Intelligence and a Passion making a difference in a students life. There are some people who exemplify total commitment to the human race...Julie is such a rare person. There are out there on planet earth literally thousands of humans whose lives have been changed and at the very least moved because Julie filled their minds, hearts and souls with what it took to transform from a child into a a living breathing human that others could respect.
FUTURE TIME:
In the weeks and months to come I will be transformed by her death. Life is a gift and it NEVER lets you know when the party is over. Her death reinforces in my soul a line from "The dead poets Society" . Robin Williams takes his College students to the trophy display. All the previous students that attended his school and all the trophies are brightly lit up in respect and honor for the past achievements of the sports teams. He leans them into a picture where ALL in the picture are dead, and asks them "What are they telling YOU"! The answer is the same answer that Julies death is telling ALL of us....."SEIZE THE DAY!". Let every word count, never let a day go by without telling someone how much you LOVE them. A man never stood so tall.....as when he stooped to help a child. People will forget what you said...They will forget what you did....but they will NEVER forget how you made them FEEL!
Julie made thousands of people feel SPECIAL!

PRESENT TIME:
The initial shock and grief can only be healed by GOD and time. As a confirmed and practicing Christian I am Guaranteed to send GODLY prayers to EVERY PERSON who is affected by her death. Grieving is uncomfortable BUT necessary. GOD is kind and Compassionate DEATH is not!
