Kenneth CARPENTER

1948 - 2024

CARPENTER, Kenneth Dale "Kenny" Ken passed peacefully at Hospice on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was fortunate to be able to enjoy his friends and brother Alan for a couple of days before passing. Ken was one of five children born to Owen and Ione (Thompson) Carpenter (both deceased) of Maynard, Minnesota. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters and several nieces and nephews, Kay Carlisle of Portland, Oregon, Ron Carpenter of Minneapolis, MN, Alan Carpenter of Sparks, NV, and Mary Miller of Eden Prairie, MN. He was born on April 15, 1948 in his home town of Maynard, Minnesota. He graduated high school in 1966 and went on to Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota graduating in 1970. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1976. He worked for the City of St. Petersburg in the late 70s and 80s and then worked until recently with Pavement Technologies in St Petersburg. He was a past member of St. Petersburg Yacht Club for 34 years and was very involved with the Disabled Sailing program. He was a past Regatta General SPYC and was very involved for years with competitive sailboat racing. He was an ardent golfer. He will be missed by all his good buddies, work friends and family. Rest in peace loving friend. A Celebration of Life will take place at Harvey's on 4th Street on Monday, September 23, from 3-5 pm.
