Kevin FERNANDEZ Obituary

FERNANDEZ, Kevin Joseph passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2021. Born in Tampa on December 27, 1964, Kevin is survived by his mother, Irma Fernandez; brother, Brian (Lisette) Fernandez; nephews and nieces, Liam, Liana, Lauren and Micah; uncle, Gilbert Fernandez; aunt, Elsa (Al) Lopez Jr.; aunt, Sonia (Joe) Castellana; cousins, Al Lopez III, Burke Lopez, Elizabeth Lopez Mondor and Paula Fernandez Lutes and many loving cousins. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and grandparents, Jose and Josefina Fernandez and George and Ofelia Varon. A 1983 graduate of Tampa Catholic, Kevin spent his life in Tampa, enjoying fishing on the Hillsborough River and in the Gulf. His talents for cultivating orchids and other plants was unmatched. Kevin's love and affection for his family, especially his mother, will not be forgotten. His last day was happily spent celebrating Easter with his family. Kevin was authentic, humble and kind, and we take great comfort knowing he is now at peace and at rest in Paradise. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 12708 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Kevin to ZooTampa at Lowry Park to support the David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center https://zootampa.org/support/donate-today/.
