Leonard DeCava Obituary

DeCAVA, Leonard R. 81, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in Brooksville. He was born in Fairfield, CT and lived here for 23 years. He was owner/ operator of Colonial Service Center, Semore, CT. He was a race car driver "Red Ray," #3 car, & was featured several times in Wide World of Sports for boat racing on the Hudson River, past president of UNICO-United National Italian Community Organization, & a volunteer fireman, Oxford, CT. He was an avid golfer, loved his wife, family and dog. He was affiliated with St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Patricia DeCava, of Spring Hill; daughters, Faith Frame, Spring Hill, Jane & Dennis DiMauro, Bolton, CT; brother, James DeCava of Seattle, WA; sister, Marion & Paul Corvino, of Stafford, CT; and grandchildren Dawn DiMauro, Wendy & Alex Anselmi, Richard DeCava Jr., Timothy Presutto, Michael DeCava, Joshua DiMauro & Jeffery Frame; nine great- grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Calling hours are 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm Aug. 13, 2008, at Downing Funeral Home. Services 10 am, Aug. 14, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, with full military honors. Downing F.H. 352-684-5334
