Lucille Taylor Obituary

Taylor, Lucille Ann (DiStefano)

81, passed peacefully on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024 after a long illness. A born and raised Jersey girl, Lucille flew the coop and hit the road when she married a military man (Larry G. Taylor, Air Force EOD) with whom she had two children. Larry's early death in 1980 saw her return to her family who had relocated to St. Petersburg. A strong, independent woman, she sacrificed much and worked hard to support her family, ultimately having a long career at the USPS. A social butterfly, her most exciting work was her stint at Ralph Campanella's glamorous 49th St. restaurant (accountant by day/hostess by night). She was the rescuer of many Siberian Huskies, a champion of pets, women, children and underdogs, and was not afraid to stand up to authority. She loved a road trip and experiencing the world from the front seat of her Ford Explorer. She is survived by recently separated long-time partner, Charles Wheeler (grandson, Donovan); sister-in-law, Beverly DiStefano; children, Christopher (wife, Stacey) and Charlotte (husband, Kelly), and granddaughter, Emma. The family shall mourn privately. Donations in Lucille's name may be made to the ASPCA.
