Remembering all the great fun memories we had over the years. Love you and Dee like family. Traveling through Europe was a highlight of our years as friends. Think of you often and miss our times and visits so much.

February 26, 2016

Dear Dee and children,
We are so sorry to have heard of Mike's death. He was, as you know, a special person, teacher, and positive influence on so many lives which were "touched" by him. He was always so proud of all of you and I was so fortunate to have taught with him at MIHS. I have many special memories of him. May the prayers of your friends and the strength of your faith be the wings that will lift you up at this difficult time. Love to all of you. Marlene and Rich Merryman

Mrs. Mary Andrae and Family,
I was sorry to hear Mike has passed. Mike was a true professional educator and an outstanding human being. I enjoyed Mike's company and his insight to so many different topics. Woodworking, golf and life just to mention a few. His positive outlook on a daily basis was contagious. Mike will be sadly missed.

Ps. Mike, Your tribute to you father was admirable. The Andrae legacy lives on!

Mrs. Andrae,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your husband. I'm sure hundreds of Prep students and athletes hold Mr. Andrae in high regard.
Certainly, we T&F athletes will never forget the 1969 season as Mr. Andrae coached Prep to its first City Championship. My teammate brothers Joe ('71) and Bill ('72) and I recall that special season.
As some of us seniors celebrated our victory in the City Meet, we visited Coach and your apartment. Over the years, my brother-in-law, Ken Heberle and I have reminisced about that night.
Mr. Andrae was a good man, a fine teacher, and an inspirational coach. He will be missed; may he rest in peace.

February 23, 2016

Dear Dee and family:
Mike's death brings us great sadness for you and your family. I remember as a young girl knowing that beautiful Dee Loesch was marrying the guy from Prep who she was crazy about but little did I know that our lives would cross paths again. Many memories of Natalie at our house taking care of all the Blake girls, you patiently putting up with the 5 of them at the shoe store and all of our conversations about so many things related to our families and our time together on Shenley Drive. You and Kaka were the ultimate in my book---the big girls next store who always let me tag along. I had the opportunity to get to know Mike through the McDowell system and I can tell you there was never a time I spoke with him that you and your family did not enter the conversation. Mike was clearly crazy about you Dee and took great joy in the the family you created together. What a beautiful legacy he leaves....I am just sorry he had to leave so early. You will continue to be in our thoughts----Mike is at peace and we ask that you and all of his children continue to feel his love and light. Fondly, Carol and Jeff Blake

Dear Dee,
I was extremely saddened to hear that Mike had passed on. My heartfelt condolences to you and the family. Mike was such a dear friend and cohort in our Millcreek days. We really enjoyed each other's company and had the same take on many matters concerning the district at that time. One of my fondest memories was getting appointed parking lot duty everyday after school. We made the best of it and took turns buying each other coffee. He was a great guy and super bright. I loved his sense of humor. I'm glad his suffering is over! May the angels welcome him and may the Lord get you through these difficult times. Sincerely, Jay

Deepest sympathies! I believe I had Philip in class and Garrett was the first class president when I took over as Senior Class Adviser. I remember being in the office one day when Mike called me into his office. he had just received a new computer. He wanted to show me that in an inset on the screen he was able to view one of the local TV stations. He was real excited about that. He will be missed.

Mr. Andrae taught me in Biology and coached me in track at Prep. I will never forget that he entered me in the 880 for the city meet. When I unexpectedly placed in the race he came running down from the coach's booth to congratulate me. I think we were both stunned by the accomplishment! He was a good coach/teacher and a better man.

I was a former student of Mr. Andras(1990). I was horrible at biology, so I had the tendency to daydream... A LOT. He new this, and would call on me all the time. He stayed after school to help me, knowing a bad grade could keep me off the baseball team. Fast forward to years later... While working at MIHS.... They just started the "No Smoking" policy in the district. I thought I had the perfect place to smoke. Nobody knew where it was. So one day I snuck out for a smoke. About a minute later, here comes Mike. I thought I was done for. He then pulled out a smoke and said " I won't tell if you don't". We stood there and talked about issues at the school. Great down to Earth guy!! Mike has made Millcreek Township School District just that much better just for being himself. He treated everyone with respect from food service and custodians to teachers and administration. My condolences to the family!!

I still have some of Mike's tools that he gave me when you moved and I want u to know I will cherish them and all of the amazing memories that all of you have given to me... Thank you all for shaping my life!
