Nancy G. Halpin

HALPIN, Nancy G., 73, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, following a long illness. Nancy was a graduate of Rosarian Academy and St. Mary' s Hospital of Nursing, West Palm Beach, Fla. She was a registered nurse whose career spanned more than 40 years. Her service included employment at Continental Can Co., The prison health system and John Knox Village, to name a few. She later volunteered as a guardian ad litem for the children of the Hillsborough County Court System. Nancy also was a longtime, active member of the Tampa chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Halpin. She is survived by her brother, Walter Powers of California; her children, Patrick Halpin and his wife Patti of St. Petersburg, Fla., Susan Airheart and husband, Mike, of Charlotte, N.C., and Kevin Halpin and his wife, Susie, of Tampa; grandchildren Peter, Caitlin, Sean and Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service for the family will take place Thursday.
