Orfeo TROMBETTA Obituary
of Seminole, FL, and formerly from Brooklyn, NY, died peacefully April 28, 2017 at 8:40 am. He was born August 11, 1922. He retired in 1973 from the United States Air Force after 31 years of continuous service, beginning with World War II, spanning Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. He is survived by his junior high school sweetheart and beloved wife of almost 73 years, Joanne (nee Gatto) Trombetta; his three sons, LTC Orfeo (Chuck) Trombetta Jr. USA Retired, William S. Trombetta Air Force Civilian Retired, and Christopher J. Trombetta, CPA; three grandchildren, Orfeo (Chucky) III, Stephanie, and Jessica; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Trombetta-Potts in 1987. A committal service with military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, Thursday, May 11, 10:45 am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Orfeo Trombetta's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. St. Jude is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation.
