Paul BUTLER Obituary

BUTLER, Paul Sr., 91, of Temple Terrace, Fla., passed away January 21,

2010. Born in Mosheim,

Tenn., Paul lived a life devoted to God and to providing for and loving his family. His wife of 62 years, Mary Anna, preceded him in death. Paul was the valedictorian of his high school class, attended Hiwassee College, and retired as a district sales manager, after 42 years with Kraft Foods. He was known as one of the "Butler Boys" referring to Paul and all three of his brothers, who each had more than 40 years with Kraft. Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Coming from a family of Methodists, Paul was faithful in his worship and was a member of the Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, where he was a former teacher of the fellowship class, whose love and support he enjoyed. In retirement Paul didn' t miss his three tee times a week, with his golfing buddies at Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. Paul is survived by his son, Paul Jr.; daughter-in-law, Ginah; grandsons, Jeff and Rob, who loved their "Grand B"; and their families, who provided him two granddaughters, Jennifer and Lan, and three great grandchildren, Jack, Jordan, and Grant. A visitation will take place 4-6 p.m. Saturday, with a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday, both at the Terrace Oaks Funeral Home, 12690 N. 56th St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617. Mr. Butler was a wonderful man and will truly be missed. He always seemed genuinely happy to see me and never failed to give me a big hug and ask how I was. I will always be greateful to him for how nice he was to my sister at John Knox. I regret I didn't make a bigger effort to see him, when he was no longer able to attend church.

The church was so important to him and his faith was so strong. There is no doubt that he is in a better place now and can spend eternity with his Lord and his beloved Mary Anna.

My prayers go out to Paul, Jr., Ginah and his wonderful family.

Love, Marge Ellison
