Philip O'Connell Obituary

O'CONNELL, Philip Joseph 79,passed away Thursday,July 14,2011 at his home on Treasure Island. born in Gardner, MA. He moved to Deland, FL while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated Boston University and later earned his law degree at Stetson University School of Law specializing in Estate Planning. Among his man accomplishments, Philip was a member of both the Florida and Colorado Bar Associations, a founding partner of the Bank of St. Petersburg, a partner in Stewart Fidelity Title Company, a long time member of the St. Petersburg Yacht club and the fist King of the Krewe of Neptune. As an avid yachtsman, many good times were enjoyed on his numerous boats, especially "The Mean Machine". His lifelong adventures included summers and winters in Aspen where Philip loved skiing. He also enjoyed frequent travel with his wife Nandini to favorite destinations in the South of France and Italy. All who knew him will remember how much Philip enjoyed living life to the fullest, sharing his love of life with all his friends and hosting great parties with his wife at their homes on Treasure Island and in Apen. He is survived by his loving wife, Nandini. funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22,2011 at 10 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd ave., St. Pete Beach,FL. in lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Suncoast Hospice.
