MARQUETTE, Richard G.

80, passed away August 4,2017. He was born June 8, 1937, the son of Clarence W. and Margie (Ritchie) Marquette. Richard served in the United States Marines and was a retired SalesManager for a Commercial Bakery Equipment company. He loved the Lord, enjoyed pulling pranks on people, eating out and exercising. He had a heart as big as Texas and was an extremely generous man who never learned the definition of "no". He was predeceased by wives, Joyce and Rose; brother, Fred; fur baby Maggie. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Brooks-Marquette; and fur baby Zoey; daughters, Margie (Tim) Ovenmiller; Diane Kindig; stepdaughter, Peg Morris; son, Richard (Joy) Marquette; brothers, Bill (Sam) and Bob (Betty); sisters-in-law Mart (Tom) Ross and Lou Ann "Sis" (Bill) Schaffer; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; niece and nephews; extended family Teddy and Brenda Saylor all of Pennsylvania and Jack and Marge Rhines, North Fort Myers, FL; special grandson, Sgt. Daniel Billett, USMC Camp Lejeune, NC; sister-in-law Jean B. Hancock; brother-in-law Bobby R. Brooks, and Lester Bakeman, his exercising buddy for 12 plus years, all of Zephyrhills. A memorial service will be held 11 am August 17, at First Baptist Church, 38231 Fifth Avenue, Zephyrhills, FL. He will be interred at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, P A. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of God World Missions, Casa Shalom Orphanage in Guatemala, P.O. Box 2936, Cleveland, TN 37320-2936. Whitfield Funeral Home

Worked with Dick for 23 years at Alto/ Sandvik in York, Pa. We were keeping in contact by E-mail until the middle of July. He will be missed by family and friends.

Rich was our neighbor and great friend for many years on Powder Mill Rd York Pa. He and John shared so many fun together. He will be so missed. I can just imagine he and John as angels racing their mowers. My prayers to the family.

Richard was one of my best friends at the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Wellness Center. We enjoyed our chats (on many different subjects)which made the time go fast. We had some military differences,him being a Marine and me being in the Air Force. I sure do miss his company.
