Bobby and I were first classmates in kindergarten at 54th Avenue Elementary which started a long friendship. We graduated together at Northeast High as well as attended the church group together at Allendale Methodist. I've lived away since 1960, but on my visits to St. Petersburg over the years Bobby was one person I always made a point to stop and visit. He was a dear friend all these many years and I will miss those visits. RIP Bobby, and rest assured you will not be forgotten. Archie McKinnis

I lived nearby in the 70's on a lower income. I couldn't afford the minimum to have the fuel oil truck come out, so would take my 5 gallon can to the store. I was late one night and the store was dark and closed. Mr. Counts was in his car and pulling out when he saw me. He immediately stopped and insisted on opening the store and taking the time to sell me my small amount of Fuel oil. I will always remember the thoughtfulness of this kind Gentleman. A true hometown asset that will be sorely missed. God Bless!

My condolences to the family. I loved going to Counts Hardware store every day and getting a can of soda and bubble gum. He even let me help clean up the store for a llfew dollars. He'll be missed. RIP
