Ronald CALUB Obituary

CALUB, Ronald Dale "Ronnie" 76, of Brooksville, FL, went to his heavenly home January 16, 2021, after a brief battle with Covid-19. He was born in Tampa, FL to Emilio and Grace Calub November 27, 1944. He grew up in Tampa and graduated from HB Plant High School. Proud to serve his country, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in Viet Nam and was awarded the Purple Heart. After his service, he drove for Consolidated Freightways for 30 years. He retired in Brooksville to take up his third occupation as co-owner of Artist Gardens and Stable. He loved his farm life which included caring for and training many horses. Ronnie loved many sports and the great outdoors. Through the years, he enjoyed boating, camping, and more recently Ronnie enjoyed traveling across the country by train. He was an avid runner, completing 26 marathons including the Boston, San Francisco and Washington, DC Marine Corps events. He loved his family and friends and never failed to put a smile on everyone's face. He was hardworking, fit and best known for his kind and generous heart. This world was left a better place to have had him in it. He will be dearly missed by everyone. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Grace Calub; as well as his sister, Emilie Grace; and nephews, Robbie Pearson and Tyler Norman. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Calub; daughter, Nikki Rach (Dennis); sisters, Maralyn Hertzberg (Steve), Carolyn Ona (Nestor), Kim Atkinson (Rick); grandchildren, Jonathan Rach and JuliAnne Rach; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to ARC Nature Coast.

It's taken a long time to write a message of more than 15 words.. Thank you for " way back in the early sixties at P!ant. You opened your sweet self to a scared little sophomore . I'm glad we had those few dates that were sweet and introduced me to a big world out there. Thanks for hanging at the Colonnade after school..
We all thought you were the sweetest and most kind person.. Walk with the ANGELS my friend , You certainly earned Your WINGS.. .

Ronnie, I was so happy to have seen you at the memorial get together for Tom Neil several years ago. Over the years I had often wonder what happened to Plant Highs record holding football punter. I was so happy see you and talk with you. As a friend in High school you were one of the finest i ever knew. God Bless you and watch over your family.
