Ronald Alan Knight

KNIGHT, Ronald Alan 58, of Clearwater, passed away in his home Saturday, May 24, 2008. He was born Oct. 2, 1949, in St. Petersburg, to James and Madeline Knight. Following graduation from Dunedin High School in 1968, he served in the Army. He retired from Verizon/GTE after 33 years of service. Ron spent the majority of his life in Florida surrounded by family and friends. His laugh was infectious and would light up any room. He was a giving person and was always ready to help anyone with their household projects. Ron was very proud to share the knowledge he gained during his many years working on the line crew for Verizon. He loved to fish and even supplied stone crab claws to the local market. Watching the Game Show Network and the Food Network became an enjoyable pastime for Ron. Time with family was time well spent. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Knight of Clearwater; his children, Page and Greg Andersen of Dallas, TX, Jason and Sheri Aquilar of Clearwater, Trish Aquilar and Kenton Grove of Woodbury, CT, and Brie and Jayson Gwaltney of Clearwater; his grandchildren, Kyle and Thomas Andersen, Daniel and Jonathan Aquilar, Justin Varecka and Rajon Gwaltney; his mother, Madeline Knight; sister, Susan Knight and dog Yogi. He is predeceased by his brother, Carl James Knight in January 1989. Ron was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by many. There will be a Memorial Service at the funeral home on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 6 pm.
