Ruby Ernst Obituary

ERNST, Ruby L., 78, of Sebring, Fla., passed away September 29, 2009, under the care of hospice at The Palms assisted living facility. She was born March 18, 1931, in Adrian, Mich., the daughter of William and Carrie Jones. Edinboro, Pa., and Meadville, Pa., were her home for many years, which she shared many fond memories. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. Nursing was her passion in life; she participated in all facets of nursing, from teaching to administration, and most importantly, helping others. Ruby was avid reader and an enthusiastic card player, and loved spending time with her friends. She is survived by her two sons, John Michael (Heydi) Quinlan of Edinboro and William (Tammie) Quinlan of Eleele, Hawaii; one brother, William (Judy) Jones of Conneaut Lake, Pa., and one sister Katherine (Robert) Daro of Clermont, Fla.; four grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Micah and Carrie Quinlan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Ernst and sister, Patricia (James) Snyder. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. October 10, 2009, at Francis 1 Community Center. Ruby' s family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to Ruby' s special friends at Kenilworth Rehab, Good Shepherd Hospice and The Palms assisted living staff, who lovingly guided them all through this most difficult journey.
