Ruth Wilkinson Obituary

WILKINSON, Ruth 88, of St. Petersburg, FL, died August 28. Born July 29, 1920, in Cooter, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Warren G. Wilkinson. Two sons, Harold A. Wilkinson and J. Michael Wilkinson, and her daughters in-law, Dianne Wilkinson and Carmen Wilkinson survive her. Grandchildren include Connor and Christine Wilkinson, and step granddaughter, Danielle Lane. She has a sister, Lora Covington in Temple, TX and a brother, Roy Funderburk in Thornwood, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was a Purchasing Agent for the Air Force during World War II. She was a member of the Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Park, Inc., a charter member of Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club, past member of Wythe Woman's Club in Hampton, VA; President of the Dracaena Circle of the Garden Club of St. Petersburg. She did volunteer work for the Red Cross and nursing homes in St. Petersburg and knitted woolen scarves for the homeless. She enjoyed reading, bridge, bowling, golf, puzzles, crafts and sewing. Thanks to The Springs at Boca Ciega Bay and to Hospice for their wonderful care. The family will have a private service for "mom".
