Shirley POWERS Obituary

POWERS, Shirley Jo Passed away on Nov. 24, 2012, in Spring Hill after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. "Jo Jo" was born in Akron, OH, on April 26, 1946. Her spirit was always positively contagious to family, co-workers and all those she met in this life. She is survived by her spouse, Carl Thomas Powers; son, Scotty Powers (Michele); daughter, Shannon Powers-Jones (Scott); grandson, Brandon Jones and granddaughter Delaney Jones; sister, Sally Coburn (Michael); brother, Bobby Smith (Muffy); brother-in-law, Jack Powers and sister-in-law MaryAnn Powers; brother-in-law, Paul Powers, sister-in-law Laurie Powers and nieces and nephews from both the Smith and Powers families. In lieu of flowers, Shirley asked that donations be made in her name to HPH Hospice, 12260 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613, or the American Melanoma Foundation, 4150 Regents Park Row, Suite 300, LaJolle, CA 92037 (www.melanomafoundation.org/AMF/donation.htm).
