My dad (David Stoutenger) just notified me of this website and of the news that Tommy had passed. I am so sorry for the entire family's loss! I wish I had known much sooner. I tried keeping in contact with Tommy over the years, he was a good friend. He will truly be missed

Wow never knew missing someone is so hard. You were the best brother any one could ask for. You put me in my place when I needed it and told when everything is ok. Your still the person I strive to be and no matter how long your gone or how far away your are we still connected. Man I miss you so much bro you have no clue. One day we will meet and we can talk about all the time you missed. LOVE YOU BRO.

Wish I had known Tommy, the man; but Tommy, the boy was a generous beautiful soul; a friend to my son and a joy to be around. Know that he is part of the great cloud of witnesses and the Lord does let him have glimpses into your lives. He knows what is going on in the family and I am sure he is helping shape your future homes in heaven. We love you all and remember you on this day.

Tommy was a very talented young man...... He was a huge part of our praise band..... I will always remember this particular song he played on his saxaphone "Say The Name" there was no doubt he was annointed everytime he played it......... so now everytime we do that song in church I can still hear him playing softly behind us..... it's people like Tommy you just never forget...... Artie, Janet, Tori and Timmy, you are amazing people........ I love you all and pray that God will continue to strengthen you and give you complete peace......

He and I were not the closest of friends but we were still friends, but the passing in hallways at WCHS we chatted here and there and he was always up to talk and listen. Such a nice guy he is. I am sure he is very missed and I am truly sorry to his family and friends. Celebrate how he lived, mourn not his death. Take care.

I worked with Thomas at Cracker Barrel. He was truly a gentlemen, and kind soul. We would talk of faith and such matters while rolling silver. I am sorry for his family's loss, but I am happy to know he is with the Lord right now. I pray that God would comfort his family as only God can comfort in situations like these. Brenda Johns

As Tommy or Thomas little sister I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has posted on here. I don't think you will truly understand how much this blesses my family knowing that Tommy has affected people. It has truly been a blessing reading the kind thoughtful words everyone has put on here.

Hello - I'm 'lil' Tommy's uncle, 'big' Tommy. My wife Carol, daughter Rachel and myself send our heartfelt condolences to Janet, Artie, Tori, and Timmy on the passing of Tommy.
We will miss that wide grin of his.
I am grateful that his parents raised him up in the ways he should go because Tommy kept his Christian belief and now has true Love and Peace.
May the Lord keep all of us in the palm of His hand.

I worked with Thomas at Cracker Barrel in Wesley Chapel. He was a breath of fresh air; unique, enthusiastic, funny, and extremely kind and selfless. He was truly one of a kind, and I am deeply saddened that he can't continue to spread his zest for life to those around him. We can only learn from his example and try to live each day to the fullest. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I met Thomas several times during thanksgiving dinners at the Steighler's home in Lakeland. He was a very happy and kind person who had only good things to say about everyone. He always verbalized his thankfulness for his family and friends. He will not be forgotten and his love will live on forever.

Thomas, I'm really going to miss you man. I remember working with you at Cracker Barrel in Wesley Chapel. You always had a smile on your face and I remember all the good times we had together. It's so sad to believe that you are no longer with us but it's comforting to know that you are in God's hands. We will always remember your positive and friendly attitude. May you rest in peace.

Though we didn't really know each other except from the fact that I am a customer and my daughter worked with you, I still know you as always being so kind and I always talked to you. I will miss your smile from our Publix family and may your family find comfort in knowing that you were such a sweet person that treated everyone with respect. You were a pleasure to talk to. The fact that you will not be there anymore saddens me and it's never understood why God chooses someone so young. God though had other plans for you and he welcomed you into his arms. May God continue to bless you on your journey and may he bless your family as they go thru this difficult time. You did not have very long on this earth but you brought so much to each person that you touched. You will not be forgotten. May you rest in peace.

I was truly shocked when I heard of the loss of Thomas. He was a fine young man who always had a smile and a kind word. I met him when working at Publix store 6 but later he would stop his jog and talk with me by SPES when I worked there. This is very sad and my heart goes out to his family for their loss.

Please send prayers to the family of Thomas Betts. I am so sad that Thomas is gone. But, I am happy that he is with our Lord, Jesus Christ. I met Thomas when I worked at Publix on SR 56 and as a mother of a young adult myself, I knew right away Thomas had that "something special" that I immediately liked. Unlike most older teens, Thomas definately was was a true gentleman. I often felt that Thomas should have been born in an era where chivalry was the norm. He more apt to be giving rather than receiving. I don't believe I ever seen Thomas complain or get mad or be upset. He was a very freshing young man in that he could carry on intelligent conversations without the use of profanity and vulgerness. I know Thomas is with our Lord, but this world truly will be amiss without that fine young man. God Bless the Betts Family.
