My heart breaks to hear this news. We live in Panama City and did not know about the funeral. I spent many days sailing with Tom. He was one of my few mentors. He knew how to live life to the fullest while taking time to be a true friend. I will miss him but will always look back at the great times we had together. Rest in peace my friend.

I remember Mr Hails as our client at Segers, Sowell, Stewart and Johnson, CPA. He was always very kind. He brought his Pitty Pat with him when she was still alive. I used to notarize documents for them. I saw his Memoriam to her every year in the News Herald. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Since I retired from the accounting firm in 2006, I have not been able to keep up with him. I hope he was not too ill at the end. He had a long life.

I became acquainted with Tom when I leased his condo on Tybee Island while visiting the area for the burial of my husband's ashes. He contacted my son-in-law because of what I wrote in his vis. contact. Judy was with him and we enjoyed a short overnight visit. I always wrote and sent cards and had not heard in awhile so called Judy and received the new of his passing. Ironically, he passed on my husband's birthday. My heartfelt condolences to Judy, his large family and his friends. Rest in Peace, Tom. Your were one of kind. M. Connie Weaver
