Thomas STALL Obituary

STALL, Thomas Hanley

79, of Spartanburg, SC, husband of Mary Ann Streck Stall, passed away very peacefully Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at his home, knowing once again that his beloved Gators had won. Born Oct. 26, 1935 in Tampa, Thomas was a son of the late C. Hanly and Connie Hicks Stall. He was the grandson of the late Bertrand and Clara Bearss Stall, who came from Missouri in the late 1880's to establish and found, with others, the Evangelical United Brethren Church, now known as Lake Magdalene Methodist Church on Fletcher Ave. Tom graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1953, excelling in many sports and being very well liked through his engaging personality. Tom worked in the construction industry and was well known and respected. Anyone who knew him was aware that he lived life to the fullest. Tom was loved dearly and will be missed very much. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; two daughters, Tonya Hypes and Tommie Lynn Stall; four stepchildren, Debra Garcia, Ron Gillette (Lisa), Michelle Delgado (Tony), and Derek Herndon; his sister, Barbara and her husband, Earl; and his devoted canine sentinel, Lacie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Terry Lee Stall. A celebration of his life in his home town will be held at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.JMDunbar.com.

l was so sorry to hear of Tommy's death.I am his cousin, the daughter of his father's youngest sister.
My fondest memory was the day he and Wilbert were pushing five of us younger cousins in the swing on Grandma's front porch when the chain broke throwing us in all directions. That got the attention of all our parents.I suppose it was funny after the fact, but scary at first thinking someone was really hurt. I am sure he had more exciting incidents in his life.

So sorry to hear about Tom's passing. Always fun to be with at our Hootenanny in Spartanburg. Even with the Moonshine Cherries he'd bring! Peace and love to his family and especially Mary Ann who was always by his side. Xoxo
