It´s been 10 years, Papa. 10 years without you. I can´t even believe it.

Ricky and I visited you and Meme´s grave a few days ago. We will bring some flowers next time. I promise.

Oh and guess what?! I´m getting married next year! I wish you and Meme could be there. I´ll have a little memorial table set up for y´all.

I love you. You´re forever in my heart.

Wow. 9 years. It´s been 9 years since you left us. The pain hasn´t gotten any better. Sometimes I think about you and the tears roll down my cheeks and my heart feels like it´s been ripped out of my chest.

I miss you and Meme every day of my life. Y´all were the best grandparents I could´ve ever asked for and all of my best memories were spent with you. Like working in your shed with you. I remember the little toolbox you bought me so I could be your little helper. Or riding in the golf cart together looking at the deer in your neighborhood. You were the first person to let me drink coffee! Well 90% French Vanilla Creamer and 10% actual coffee was what it really was until I was old enough. You´re the one who got me hooked on the Andy Griffith Show and old movies. I still watch them from time to time and think of you sitting in your chair watching it with me.

So much in my life has changed. I hope you are proud of me. I´m really trying. Being an adult is hard. I wish you were still here to give me advice. Sometimes I want to just pick up the phone and call you and Meme but then I realize, I can´t.

I´ve been through a lot of trauma in my life but losing you was one of the most difficult things I have ever dealt with. You were a true father figure to me. An incredible example of a godly husband and dad.

I miss you beyond words. I miss the smell of your aftershave. I miss your loud "Amen"s in church. I miss feeling your scratchy shadow of a beard when you would kiss me on my cheek. I´m still not ok with you being gone. I just live through it day by day in the hopes that I will see you again one day.

I love you a bushel and a peck, Papa.

Wade, if anyone could make leaving this life and going to Heaven something to look forward to, it would be you. I am so happy that you were right with God and ready to go. I am sorry that you had to suffer, but that will not be the case any longer. One thing for sure is that you truly loved Loretta and the children and were never afraid to show it. I know that your brothers and sisters will miss you here on earth, but you will be the first to see your Mom and Dad again in heaven.

Loretta, you were so blessed to have someone love you so much. Most people will never know that kind of love. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. You have such a wonderful loving, and religious family on which you can depend. God bless you dear.

I have so many special memories of Wade, Loretta, Debbie, Gary, Sandy and Melissa and NaNa. Your family was one of the first I met when coming to Florida over 41 years ago. I am so sorry that Wade suffered so much this past year or so but I am so thankful that he is rejoicing now with our loving Lord. Those of you who are left here will feel the empty place in your lives now with Wade in heaven. My prayers are with you all and will be in the days ahead. I'm so sorry I can't make the service due to work but my heart and thoughts will be with all of you there. I love you all, and may the Lord give you a special peace and wrap you in his love and comfort.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 Brothers and sisters, we want you to know the truth about those who have died, so that you will not be sad, as are those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again; so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have died believing in Him. Sory that we will be unable to attend Wades funeral service, but be assured that thoughts and prayers continue for you Loretta and family.

The very mention of Wade's name will always bring a smile. We have fond memories of him and Loretta that go back to our small church in Brooksville several years ago. How thrilled we were to reconnect with them at Cornerstone! Wade will be one of those we hurriedly look up when we arrive through those pearly gates ourselves. Our prayers are with the family.
