FLYNN, William "Rudy" 95, of Tampa passed away June 27, 2021. Rudy is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie Powell Flynn, son, Randal William Flynn, and brother, James "Clinton" Flynn. He is survived by his son, Terry (Phoebe) Flynn of Lakeland; grandson, John William Flynn, of Melbourne; two nephews; one niece, and several cousins. Rudy was born in Tampa to James and Willie Flynn on April 10, 1926 and graduated from H.B. Plant High School. Following his enlistment in the U.S. Navy, he went to work as a technician for GTE (Verizon) and retired from there in 1991. Over the years, he enjoyed HAM radio, traveling with Bonnie, and entertaining his grandson. Always on the lookout for a project, he loved to tinker and fix things. In his later years, he enjoyed watching the Tampa Bay Rays play baseball. He was a faithful member of Bayshore Baptist Church and served as deacon for many years. He was also a member of the Palma Ceia Masonic Lodge. Special thanks to his dedicated caregivers, Christy, Jocelyn, Edwin, Jason, Adrian, Jonathan, Earline, Laverne, Ed, and Sam who helped make his life more comfortable these last few years. A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, July 3, from 2-4 pm at Blount Curry MacDill, 605 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Baptist Children's Home/One More Child or the charity of your choice. Please visit his online guestbook at www.blountcurrymacdill.com
