William LYNCH Obituary

LYNCH, William Francis "Bill"

74, took his country road home to be with the Lord October 2, 2018, after an extended illness and courageous fight. Bill was born in Charleston, WV, February 29, 1944 to the late Dorothy Cook Lynch and Vincent Lynch. Being a Leap Year baby, his birthdays were always a big celebration. As the son of a coal miner in the 1940s, Bill grew up in Hughes Creek, WV, attended Cedar Grove High School and received a scholarship for football at West Virginia Tech. With a degree in business, he began a long and successful career in industrial supply sales that moved him from Charleston, WV, to Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, and Williamsburg, VA, where he played a large role in starting the industrial division at Ferguson Enterprises. He resigned from Ferguson after an 18 year career.

In 2003, Bill moved to Tampa, FL to start a manufacturers' representative agency, B. Lynch & Associates, which continues on in his absence. Bill will be remembered for his quick wit, sharp tongue, larger than life personality and for wearing his heart on his sleeve at all times.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Geri; his sister, Margaret Ashby and husband, Gary Ashby; his children, Anne Lynch, Michael Lynch and wife, Yoly Lynch, Collin Altman and Alycia Altman; niece and nephew, Leigh and Alex Ashby; beloved grandchildren, Sean Lynch, Savanna Altman and Addison Altman. A celebration of life will be held Monday, October 8, 11 am, at Idlewild Baptist Church, Lutz, FL, Fireside Room, 18333 Exciting Boulevard, Lutz, FL 33548. Arrangements made by Dobies Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Idlewild Baptist Church Missions.
