Earlier today
I knew Karen would be a close friend immediately upon meeting her now almost four years ago. Together, we established, curated, and delivered the monthly "Millicent Unplugged" panel discussion of all things art and community for the Millicent Rogers Museum for which program I volunteered my time and energy as co-organizer and panel moderator. We spoke by phone or Zoom at least once a week, with our conversations deep into service to the members and public of the museum but thereafter stringing into personal thoughts about arts, philosophy, faith, weather, creativity, fundraising, culture differences, and on. Sometimes we spoke for an hour and a half, as though we were in hug proximity, not almost 300 miles apart. When we got together, it was hard to quench the spring-run-off flow of ideas, sharing, learning, expanding our perceptions and understanding of the 4-corners West. Loved that girl! Karl did too.
