Forrest W. Merrill

Forrest Wayne Merrill, 58 years old, died suddenly in Morton Hospital, Sunday Oct. 11, 2015, after being stricken ill at his home. He was born in Quincy, son of Carolyn (Randall) Merrill of Taunton and the late Ashley Merrill. He was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 74 and he was also a graduate of Johnson & Wales Culinary School. For over 36 years he was a Chef in some of the finest hotels in Florida. He returned to the Taunton area 18 months ago and was employed by Clay Automotive in Norwood as a car salesman. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed the Patriots, hockey and playing golf. He coached his sons in youth hockey while in Florida. He is the father of Chase Merrill of Quincy and Keith Merrill of Fl. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn, with whom he lived in Taunton and his sisters, Wendy Rota and her husband Bill of Taunton and Sharon Anderson and her husband Ron of Bridgewater. He is the uncle of James and Lesley Anderson and the cousin of several. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Route 138 South) Taunton on Thursday from 11AM to 1PM with a Funeral Service at 1PM.
