John F. Leddy

John F. Leddy of North Falmouth, MA passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2016. Son of the late P. Frank and the late Mary (McNamara) Leddy, he was the beloved husband of Catherine J. (Powers). He was born and raised in Taunton, MA and is a graduate of Monsignor James Coyle High School (Class of 1943). He trained as a pilot in the U.S. Navy during World War II and attended the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Williams College, and Miami University of Ohio during that time. He is the former President of Davol/Taunton Printing, Inc. of Taunton, MA. He served as Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #82 and was a member of the Order of Elks. He also served on the Board of Investment of the Taunton Savings Bank. He enjoyed golf and was a member of Segregansett Country Club, Pocasset Golf Club, and Palm-Aire Country Club (Sarasota, FL). Having been an only child, John was very proud to be the loving father of five children: daughter Ellen D. Auclair of Attleboro, MA, sons Philip F. Leddy and Cynthia Letourneau of Plymouth, MA, John W. and Maura W. Leddy of Raynham, MA, Peter C. and Sheila Leddy of Milton, MA, and Kevin P. Leddy of North Falmouth, MA. He also leaves eight grandchildren; Briana Auclair; Christopher and Andrew Leddy; Tierney P. and Patrick J. Leddy; Owen, Caelan and Anna Leddy; along with a cousin Edward Walsh of CA. He was the former husband of the late Carolyn M. (Gillon) Leddy, who passed away in 1955. Lelia McNamara Love of Falmouth, MA also predeceased him. Visiting hours will be at Chapman, Cole & Gleason, 584 West Falmouth Hwy. (Rt. 28A), West Falmouth, MA on Monday, June 27 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, North Falmouth, MA at 11:00 a.m. on June 28, 2016. Burial will be immediately following at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
