Neil Sherman

Neil Sherman, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the loved son of late Charles E. and Arline (Bryer, Hall) Sherman. He was born and raised in Raynham by his parents, who loved him unconditionally. Neil had a wondering soul, spending years living between Massachusetts and Florida. He was also an Air Force veteran, spending his service time in Kansas. Neil lived a simple life, but had many lifelong friends. He spoke of his friends and family often, sharing stories of the past. Most often speaking of "Aunt Bev" and how much it meant to him that she would remember his birthday each year with a phone call or card. Neil's greatest joy was his four children, for each he was very proud of. He spent the last 12 years of his life living with his daughters and spending time with his family. Neil leaves behind his three daughters, Diane Rose and her husband Michael of Dighton, Cindy Galavotti and her husband Aaron of Taunton and Nancy Sullivan of Fall River; his son, Scott of Swansea; eight grandchildren, Victoria Boone ("Tori Potter" as he called her) and her husband Staff Sargent Michael of the Marine Corps in Pennsylvania, Briana Galavotti, Aaron Galavotti Jr, Joanna Sherman, Jacob Sherman, Ethan Westcoat, Alec Galavotti and Jocelyn Sullivan; five great grandchildren, Jayce Cotto, Caleb Boone, Hunter Cummings, Weston Boone and Italy Pina. He is the former husband of the late Jo-Ann (Burgess) Sherman, and Cherie Sherman of Swansea. Please join his children in celebrating Neil's life on Monday June 28, at 4 p.m. The "Party" as Neil requested, will be held at the American Legion located on Mill Street in Raynham, Neil's home away from home for many years. A private burial will be held on Tuesday, June 29, at the Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham. This is where Neil asked to be "planted" with his parents.
