CALVIN COX Calvin Cox, 65, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday January 5th, 2006, at his home surrounded by family. He was the devoted father of Adrienne Cox and her husband Mitchell Praver, and Paige Cox and her husband Michael Stup; and the proud grandfather of Luke, Eliza, Cole and Carson. He is also survived by his sister Kaye Benson and her husband James Benson of St. Simons Island, Georgia, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George Cox and Katherine Cox both formerly of Vero Beach and his sister George Ann Featherston of Macon, Mississippi. Mr. Cox was raised in Vero Beach and graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1958. Calvin had relatives in Macon, MS and visited frequently with his family there...and we were the same age and enjoyed athletics et al and my father always enjoyed kidding around with him about baseball...ie. the Cardinals vs the Dodgers...it was a lot of fun!

His grandmother lived in my hometown, Macon, MS and he would visit...he was very likeable...we played ball together "side yard" sports and went to the local swimming pool and did all things "barefoot boys in the South" would do...he was just a great guy

Calvin was a good friend of mine back in the day...he would visit his grandmother or aunt in Macon, Mississippi and we played ball together...actually he showed me how to make moves on the basketball court and we had fun flirting with all the young girls in Macon...he was just a great all around guy...sports, happy, fun to be around and all of my friends in Macon loved being around him when he was there for the summer...just a fun guy...rest in peace my old friend!
