Chi-Chiou Liu Obituary
Chi-Chiou Liu, M.D., passed away 1/27/21. He did his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He joined the Emergency Department Staff of Ft. Pierce Memorial Hospital (later Lawnwood Regional Medical Center) in 1977 and opened a full-time private practice in 1981. He was instrumental in developing the CPR program in the county, serving as Medical Director for St. Lucie Co. Fire District for 40 years. He is survived by 4 sisters, 4 brothers, wife Mary, and his dog.

I just heard the news about the passing of Dr. Liu. He gave me a start in the medical field when I was 19 and I worked for him for 5 years. He was one of the most interesting people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. There was no comparison to his intelligence and knowledge of so many subjects outside of medicine. He was a great diagnostician and he cared for his patients in a way that I think lacks in today's environment. He used to tell me that he was just a small time country doctor, but he was so much more. Thank for you for your service to the community Dr. Chi-Chiou Liu, you will be missed!

RIP Dr. Liu. You were the greatest doctor I ever had. I couldn't believe the time you had for every patient and I enjoyed a few wonderful lunches with you and your wife Mary at the Yacht Club.
