Edwin Auerswald Obituary

Edwin George Auerswald, 90, died June 4, 2010, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach. He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Vero Beach, coming from Ocean City, N.J. Before retirement, he worked for American Meter Co. as a master tool and dye maker, having his own shop. He served with the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He was a longtime member of Alpha Baptist Church in Philadelphia, singing in the choir. He sang in the Ocean City Men's Chorus, the Vero Beach Choral Society, and in the choirs of Hatboro Baptist Church and Community Church of Vero Beach. He was a lifetime member of the Stephen Girard Masonic Lodge No. 450 in Pennsylvania. Survivors include his wife of three years, Ann; son, Dean; sister, Elizabeth Cloud; brother, Richard; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty Belle. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Vero Beach, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: A time of memory will be at a later date in Pennsylvania. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
