Elda Melara

Elda Melara, 79, died June 20 at her home in Port St. Lucie. She was born in El Salvador, and lived in Port St. Lucie for five years, coming from Long Island, N.Y. She was a seamstress and fashion designer for 40 years in Freeport, N.Y. She attended St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Guillermo Melara of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Haydee Campos of Freeport and Elsie Melara of Port St. Lucie; sons, Guillermo Melara and Carlos Oswaldo Melara, both of Port St. Lucie, and Joaquin-Ernesto Melara of Freeport; sisters, Rosalina Campos and Daisy Campos, both of Freeport; brother, Joaquin Campos of Freeport; and 10 grandchildren. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. June 22 at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. June 23 at St. Lucie Catholic Church. Burial will be in Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Port St. Lucie.
