Harold Salzler, 95, of Jensen Beach, Fl., passed away September 30, 2017 at Stuart Nursing and Restorative Care Center.
Harold was born June 13, 1922 in Springville, NY to Charles Salzler and Sarah (Clark) Salzler. Harold married Alberta Ahles on June 29, 1940 and moved with their five children to Jensen Beach in July 1955, where he owned and operated Jensen Beach Food Center from 1955 to 1960. In 1961 he became the first letter carrier in Jensen Beach and later became Postmaster. Retiring in 1982, Harold and Alberta enjoyed many years in their summer home in Blairsville, Ga.
Harold is survived by three daughters, Rose Cooper of Jensen Beach, Fl., Harriet Killer, Gainesville, Fl., Sharon (Homer) Hontz, Jensen Beach and one son Hank (Linda) Salzler of Ft. Pierce and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harold is predeceased by wife Alberta, son David Salzler, grandchildren Donna Cooper and Bobby Cooper.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held October 10, 2017 at 10AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 2555 NE Savannah Road, Jensen Beach, Fl.34957.

I have many fond memories of Aunt Alberta and Uncle Harold when they lived in Springville. I remember the day Aunt Alberta was cooking a lobster for Uncle Harold, I couldn't bear to watch. Uncle Harold's store and the little loaves of bread he gave us. Cherish your memories and keep them near.
