I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father and only wish that the news of his passing had reached Canton earlier. Be sure to know that he touched many lives over many years and that his legacy speaks in the voices of thousands who learned to sing and enjoy music from him. I learned most that I know about music from your Dad between the ages of 8 and 12. I still remember to this day to hold my mouth open the space of two fingers when I sing. Many of you may not remember but your family, especially Mike, was most influential in my early life not only in music but also in my faith and walk with God. God bless you all in this time and may his comfort be with you.

Many fond memories being a part of the choir under Jim's direction in Jensen, Beach. We also enjoyed being with Jim on our trip to the Holy Land in 1989.

Dear Beth and Family, Olivia and I would like to extend our sympathy and love to you and your family. Your father had a marvelous voice and was a true musician. He quietly pointed out notes or passages we neded to correct without ever offending anyone. His love of music evidently had a great influence over you and your family as the musicical gifts continue to shine in you! He's probably organizing a group of musicians now in heaven where his gentle spirit now rests. Know that God has another angel with him who is watching over you. God Bless!

I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad contributed a lot to church music during his lifetime. He left a great legacy. I fondly remember our Brierwood days.
