Joachim (Jack) Heyer, was born in Esslingen Germany. He came to the United States as a teenager and lived in Passaic, NJ where he met the love of his life Rose Marie. They were married and Jack was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. After basic training, he was sent to Huntsville, AL where he served in the First Guided Missile Corp. He was a proud US soldier. While in the Army, he obtained his US citizenship and became a proud American. As a veteran, he was also a member of the American Legion.



Jack was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Assembly#1764 where he served as Past Faithful Navigator and served as a Past Grand Knight of the St Christopher Council#10718.

He was an active volunteer in several organizations including Habitat for Humanity. He was especially proud to volunteer with the FIRST Robotics program SPAM team working with the local high school youth in Martin County.



Jack was very involved with St Christopher's Church in Hobe Sound. He was a communicant, usher, and volunteered at bingo on a weekly basis.



He was a consummate machinist and tool and die maker by trade and had his own business in NJ for fifteen years. After retiring in 1989 and building their home, he went back to work at Turbo Combustor Technology where he worked until age 70.



He is survived by three sons - Frederick, Michael(Maria), and Joseph(Connie), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.



Jack was preceded in death by daughter Sandra and parents Ottilie Sottardi and Freidrich Heyer.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 25, at 11 AM at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound



In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Christopher's Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, SPAM Robotics#180, and Knights of Columbus.
