My thoughts and prayers are with all of your loved ones. The pictures in the gallery are beautiful. Brings back memories, especially Patrick's and Michelle's wedding where Joan and I wore the same dress, just different colors. Rest in peace, in the loving arms of Jesus, cousin Joanie.

I called her mom. What a great lady!! Always happy, always something wonderful to say. Loved her children dearly and her grandchildren and great grandchildren even more! I was very grateful to be a friend of Diana's and to be able to have Joan in my life and have her treat me as though I was part of the family, and she was a great surrogate mother. Over the years we have celebrated many holidays, birthdays together and those will be wonderful memories that I will be able to keep. My love and prayers go out to the family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am heartbroken for all of you and wish to offer my deepest condolences. On behalf of the Whitman Family, I would like to extend my sympathies to Tom and the entire Gleason family. Joan was such an amazing person. She gave so much of herself to her family and friends. I have many fond memories of her. When I was a little girl, she helped me learn how to swim, took Joanna and I with her to Tektone and out for pizza on Friday nights, and she even took me to CCD after I begged her, even though I wasn't even Catholic. I can honestly say that I almost always think of Joan when attending Mass, having Shake and Bake for dinner, or when sitting down to relax with a cup of tea. I loved her sweet smile and spirit, but most of all I loved her sense of family. She loved her family so much that you couldn't help but love them too. You always felt happier just being around her. She had such an amazing faith and the type of humanity few people in this world have today. Joan was truly one in a million. Even though I did not see her often, she was always in my thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.
