Vero Beach, FL
John R. Davidson "Mr. D", 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 with his wife by his side. He was born to the late Randall and Grace Davidson on February 18, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. John graduated from Michigan State with a Master's Degree in Physical Education. He and his wife moved to Connecticut where he taught at Braeburn Elementary School in West Hartford, Connecticut for 36 years. He was loved and respected by the many students, families, and fellow co-workers. After retiring to Vero Beach, he enjoyed his time working at Bent Pine Golf Club. His many hobbies consisted of golfing, gardening, antiquing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Janice Davidson and children, Carol (Jon) Swagger of Vero Beach, Florida and Cathy (Todd) Nash of Naperville, Illinois. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Michelle (Karl) Ring, Catherine Swagger, James Swagger, Alexis Nash and Garrett Nash. Interment will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Crestlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made out to The Alzheimer's Association or www.aspca.org. Online condolences may be made at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com
