Kambam Reddy Obituary

Dr. Kambam Rajiv Reddy

Port St. Lucie, FL

Dr. Kambam Rajiv Reddy, 58, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Jan. 17, 2016. He was born in India and settled in Fort Pierce, Florida. He began his medical career as a surgeon, following the footsteps of his father, Dr. K. L. Reddy, a prominent surgeon and professor in India. Dr. Kambam Reddy was a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England. Since 1995, he worked at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center as an anesthesiologist and was the Chief of Anesthesiology for many years.

Dr. Reddy was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son. Throughout his life, his dedication to family and friends was unequivocal. He was genuinely loved as a member of the community, universally cherished as a friend, physician, and mentor. Dr. Reddy's passion for his work as an anesthesiologist was unwavering, and his expertise was indisputable. He was an ardent patient advocate, always going beyond the call of duty to ensure his patients the very best. Those who worked with him can attest to his exceptional work ethic, a value that he worked hard to instill in his three children. He loved his wife and children very dearly and did all that he could to ensure the best for them. His nurturing personality provided comfort and inspiration to many, young and old. He epitomized the values of faith, loyalty, humility, and hard work to the fullest extent.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Paulina Reddy of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Rohan Reddy of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughters, Neha Reddy and Shreya Reddy both of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Dr. Sarojini Reddy of India, Dr. Nirmala Reddy of New York, Dr. Bhagyam (Chenna) Reddy of New Jersey and Manjula (Rajeev) Reddy of India; brothers, Dr. Chiran (Savitha) Reddy of New York and Sudhakar (Lata) Reddy of New Jersey; sister, Sunitha Reddy of New York; mother, Shourilamma Kambam of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. K. L. Reddy and godfather, John C. (Helen) Tarhay.

Dr. Reddy was absolutely one of a kind, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I regret that I only knew dr reddy during his illness, as I know he would have been a great friend, and wish I would have met him when he was well. His intelligence and ambition really impressed me and he persevered with strength and dignity much longer than I think I could have under those circumstances. I suppose you can know the essence of a person most readily by seeing how they handle themselves in their most dire time. I saw greatness.

Dr. Reddy was such a loving and generous man that loved his family very much. He was so very proud of his children. We would have long talks about how proud he was. He would also show love and support for others. He will be greatly missed but remembered. Much love to Paulina, Rohan, Neha and Shreya.
