Lee Vos Obituary

Lee Edward Vos

Port St Lucie - On January 24, 2021, Lee Edward Vos, age 59, passed away. He was a loving husband, father of five children and grandfather of twelve grandchildren.

Lee was born in Burlington, Wisconsin and later moved to Florida but held onto his true Wisconsin roots of being a lifelong Packer fan. Lee worked in various Construction jobs throughout his life. Anyone that had the pleasure of working with Lee, knew he was a perfectionist at any job he performed which earned the respect of all who worked with him. Lee always stepped up to any challenge with the utmost confidence.

Lee was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Vos, his parents, Herschel and Bernice Vos, his brother, Stanley Vos and sister, Karen Vos. He is survived by his wife, Julie Vos, and children, Christopher Vos, Cassandra Faulkner, Darrell Faulkner and Kristina Faulkner, as well as his twelve grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as "Gi-Gi Pa". Additionally, he is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jim Vos, Doris Uhlenhake, Dennis Vos, Darlene Koldeway and Albert Vos, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Martha Wisniewski whom he admired like his own mother.

Anyone that knew Lee quickly was enamored by his personality and willingness to help others. To know Lee was to be his friend which was easy as people tended to gravitate towards him. His smile and sarcastic sense of humor lit up a room as he was usually the life of the party. He loved to conversate and tell stories (long stories at that) with friends while enjoying a beer with them. Lee's positive attitude radiated through everyone as he never liked to complain about hardships in his own life. His family was priority and he strived to be a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and all around good person, which he accomplished to the greatest extent.

A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.

I miss you every second since you passed Daddy. He never made a fortune, or a noise
In the world where men are seeking after fame;
But he had a healthy brood of girls and boys
Who loved the very ground on which he trod.
They thought him just little short of God;
Oh you should have heard the way they said his name –
‘Father.’
There seemed to be a loving little prayer
In their voices, even when they called him ‘Dad.’
Though the man was never heard of anywhere,
As a hero, yet somehow understood
He was doing well his part and making good;
And you knew it, by the way his children had
Of saying ‘Father.’
He gave them neither eminence nor wealth,
But he gave them blood untainted with a vice,
And opulence of undiluted health.
He was honest, and unpurchable and kind;
He was clean in heart, and body, and in mind.
So he made them heirs to riches without price –
This father.
He never preached or scolded; and the rod –
Well, he used it as a turning pole in play.
But he showed the tender sympathy of God.
To his children in their troubles, and their joys.
He was always chum and comrade with his boys,
And his daughters – oh, you ought to hear them say
‘Father.’
Now I think of all achievements ‘tis the least
To perpetuate the species; it is done
By the insect and the serpent, and the beast.
But the man who keeps his body, and his thought,
Worth bestowing on an offspring love-begot,
Then the highest earthly glory he was won,
When in pride a grown-up daughter or a son
Says ‘That’s Father.

Julie, and the entire Vos family. I'm so sorry for the loss of Lee. I will always miss him. He was the best son in law a mother could ask for. He always showed nothing but love and respect for me. Always making sure I always had what I needed. RIP MY SON. Love you always.
