Mary Brophy Obituary
Vero Beach, FL
Mary Lorraine (Murnane) Brophy, 87, passed peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at home in Waynesville, North Carolina. With her passing Mary is joyously reunited with her beloved husband John Brophy, her parents Timothy and Dorothy Murnane, her brother Frederick T. Murnane, and her lifelong friends Eileen Brophy Doran and Bill Doran. Mary is survived by and remembered fondly by her children, Denis Brophy (Eva) of Barrington, RI, Patricia Robbins of Waynesville, NC, Timothy Brophy (Robbin) of Waynesville, NC, Judy Brophy of Waynesville, NC, Dorothy Marini (Peter) of Vero Beach, FL and John Brophy (Kory) of Montblanc, MI. Mary was blessed to have 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and often enjoyed singing an old Irish tune or reciting poetry to them, much to their chagrin.
Mary was born in New York City and moved to Vero Beach in 1979 and often referred to Vero as a bit of paradise on earth; in 2014 Mary moved to Waynesville, NC. As the daughter of Irish immigrants Mary was gifted with a strong-willed Irish disposition that served her well in raising her children into caring, independent, and successful adults.
A memorial service will be held at a later time. Mary will be laid to rest beside John Brophy in Vero Beach, FL. www.wellsfuneralhome.com

So sorry for the loss of a wonderful heart felt person. I was very fortunate to have met Mary, I loved all her Irish proverbs and stories. She is a generation gone by..Her stories and little sayings about Ireland I could listen to again and again.
She will be missed but...
